|About the Society
|"Tacoma Dental Society", now known as the Pierce County Dental Society was organized in 1887.
Currently the Society has over 430 members. Approximately 80% of the dentists in Pierce County are members of the Dental Society. The Society is a non-profit agency. We are dedicated to furthering education, mutual support and better communication with the general public for the purpose of their better dental health.
The Society has a Central Office to provide information on current dental issues, act as a liaison to the outside community, and serve as a support to its member dentists. We have one full-time and two part-time staff persons. The Central Office provides no-cost referral and mediation services for the public. Mediation is done for member dentists only.
Mark your calendars for the February 24th, 2018 "Children's Dental Health Day". The event will be held at the Puyallup South Hill Mall. More information to follow about this event, so check back at a later date.
Pierce County Dental Society held it's "Children's Dental Health Day" on February 25th, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Puyallup South Hill Mall. The event was free and members of the Society gave out free oral health goody bags, free dental screenings, free fluoride varnish applications, and free dental care for children in need. There was a coloring contest with some awesome prizes! Special appearances were made by: "Chompy the Carrot", "Super Tooth" and the Tooth Fairy".
During the month of February, 2017, PCDS collected 2,000 dental goody bags that were disbursed to children in need in Pierce County. The goody bag drive was in cooperation with Communities in Schools of Tacoma.
ATTN* PCDS is accepting donations from any person interested in donating toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss. Oral hygiene supplies are given to children in the community who may not have the resources to obtain them. To donate, email Cheryl at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
